The Hygge Home

The Danish word and idea of hygge (pronounced hoo-gah), is a way of battling against the cold, dreary winter by making warm, cozy spaces and relishing in comfort and things that bring the feeling of being hugged. Think warm blankets, cups of coffee or tea, game playing, and candlelight. 

The term derives from the 16th century Norwegian term "hugga," which means "to comfort" or "to console" and is related to the English word "hug."  With Valentine's Day around the corner, we thought of no better time to focus our decor with hygge in mind.
