antique-19th-century-wooden-spindle-back-bench-with-scalloped-crest-rail
antique 19th century wooden spindle back bench with scalloped crest rail

From our Heritage Collection

An exceptional 19th-century wooden bench distinguished by its long, low silhouette and beautifully shaped scalloped crest rail. Delicate turned spindles extend across the back and enclosed arms, while a broad plank seat and sculpted supports lend an architectural quality to the design. The rich reddish-brown wood retains a deeply timeworn finish, with generations of wear revealing the natural beauty of its construction. At nearly seven feet long, this antique bench makes a compelling addition to an English country house interior, an expansive entry hall, or a richly layered living room.

CONDITION

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The wood exhibits surface wear, scratches, marks, and variations in finish throughout. The plank seat shows age-related wear and natural gaps between the boards. A custom upholstered cushion would be a beautiful addition, bringing softness and a tailored finish to the bench.

MEASUREMENTS

Width

79.5 inch

201.9 cm

Depth

23.5 inch

59.7 cm

Height

28 inch

71.1 cm

Seat Height

13.5 inch

34.3 cm

Seat Width

73 inch

185.4 cm

Seat Depth

20.25 inch

51.4 cm

Arm Heights

26.5 / 25.5 inch

67.3 / 64.8 cm

Seat Height Drop

1.5 inch

3.8 cm

SHIPPING

Home delivery via a blanket wrap service. Delivery estimate in 4-6 weeks. Faster shipping available.
