From Our Heritage Collection

This is a pair of antique J & J Kohn and Mundus chairs circa 1914-1922. The classically elegant bentwood cafe chairs possess an even honey hue with subtle, desired patina from age. The veneer seats have a beautiful appearance of a rippling grain. This pair can be used in so many facets of a design concept. Paired together or separate they will add a minimalistic depth to your decor.

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Small "break" in the bentwood top rail of one chair.

NOTE: J & J Kohn were leading furniture markers in Austria from the mid 19th century to early 20th century, and worked closely with artists in the Wiener Workstatte and were leading competitors of Thonet. They merged with Mundus in 1914 and then with Thonet in 1921.

Our philosophy behind the collections of 86 Vintage is to find something from decades past and inspire our customer to translate it into their home and wardrobe.

With back grounds in fashion and interior design , our curators select various pieces that provoke thought and creativity.  Whether in its craftsmanship, worn patina, pattern, or color, each piece is appreciated for its unique character.

The collections truly are an extension of  the thought process poured into every design project.
