Dry Now, Use later

I have a fruit dryer similar to this one. I have found a few easy and money saving uses for it. You can use it to dry fruit. Slice citrus fruits very thin and place on screen. I leave the dryer in direct sunlight to accelerate the process. I have also found it works great for drying herbs. I spread out sage leaves, springs of dill, thyme and tarragon. When your basil starts to flower snip off stem and let dry. What you will be left with are the seeds to plant next time. It also works great for drying lavender.
