From our Heritage Collection
This late 19th century American rocking chair reflects Windsor and vernacular folk traditions, defined by a tall spindled back, shaped crest rail, and elongated rockers that create a strong architectural silhouette. The original painted surface has settled into a layered patina that reads as surface and history, giving the chair the presence of a museum piece. Both sculptural and functional, it offers a refined balance of form and use, suited to interiors where furniture is chosen as deliberately as art.
CONDITION
In good condition, showing wear consistent with age and use. The surface carries a beautifully timeworn patina. One back spindle retains an early, character-rich break that reflects the chair’s long life and use.
