This 19th century antique spindle back Windsor chair shows the honest form of early American seating. A gently arched back rises above the plank seat, finished in warm paint that has aged into a richly crackled surface. The timeworn finish and simple lines give the chair strong primitive character, making it a striking accent beside a table or layered easily into farmhouse, primitive, and collected interiors.
CONDITION
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. An early wood plank has been added beneath the seat for support. One stretcher is no longer present.
