This primitive rocking laundry wash tub dates to the mid to late 19th century and presents a striking cradle form with a beautifully worn painted surface. Layers of aged gray paint reveal earlier tones beneath and create the soft patina associated with long household use. The curved rockers and tall handle give the piece a distinctive silhouette that brings sculptural presence to farmhouse, primitive, and collected interiors. Circa 1860–1880.
