Details

This early American gathering basket is defined by its elongated oval form and painted splint construction in soft pink, framed by blue-green bands. The swing handles follow the line of the rim, reinforcing its scale and presence. It sits well on a pantry rack or bookcase, or holds folded textiles with ease

CONDITION

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The painted splints show areas of wear and paint loss, with a few small breaks to the weave on one side. Age is visible along the surface and edges.
