An early 20th century doctor’s bag in richly aged brown embossed leather with a structured frame, brass hardware and a fitted leather interior with divided pockets. Decades of wear reveal warm cognac tones beneath the darker surface, emphasizing the architectural shape and beautifully constructed leatherwork. Displayed in a library, study or dressing room, the bag brings the depth of antique leather to a room, while its classic shape also translates naturally as a distinctive vintage fashion and travel piece.
CONDITION
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The leather shows considerable surface wear, scuffs, scratches, finish loss and areas of discoloration throughout. The handles, edges and corners show additional wear, and the brass hardware has developed an aged patina. The leather interior shows marks, staining and wear from use. Please see photos for details.
