Details

An early 20th century Geneva hand fluter with cast metal construction and ribbed pressing plates designed for forming pleats in fabric. The surface shows a layered patina that highlights its use, while the ridged forms and compact scale give it a strong sculptural quality. It sits comfortably as a decorative object, bringing an industrial note to a collected interior.

CONDITION

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The metal surface shows a rich, developed patina. Several of the fluted bars on the upper plate show smoothing and wear from use, softening the ridged profile in areas.
