This antique Handlan lantern, dating from the 1920s to early 1940s, features embossed glass reading “Handlan St. Louis MO” and a metal top stamped “U.S. Hwy Dept,” indicating its original use in early American highway work. Crafted from durable metal with a rich aged patina, it retains its original glass globe and classic utilitarian design. Once a functional piece of government-issued equipment, this lantern now serves as a unique decorative accent, adding vintage character and rustic charm to farmhouse, industrial, or rustic-style interiors.
