vintage Hawkeye insulated picnic basket

This vintage Hawkeye insulated picnic basket is constructed with a woven wood body, fitted wood lid, double swing handles, original canvas closure straps, and a metal-lined interior. Its long rectangular shape, aged wood, and tightly woven splints make it a beautiful decorative storage piece for a living room, entry, bedroom, or country house interior. Circa 1940s–1950s.

CONDITION

In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The lid seal shows warping, with partial loss to the canvas straps, general rust and age to the metal lining, and a small break with loss to the weave near the base on one side.
