From Our Heritage Collection
An American Primitive ladder back chair dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. The three gently graduated slats, turned front posts, and woven splint seat reflect traditional rural craftsmanship. Finished in deep green paint that has softened over time, the surface reveals warmth at the edges and high points. Balanced in proportion and quietly architectural in form, it brings depth and early American presence to a collected interior.
CONDITION
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. There are breaks in the woven seat, as shown. A hairline crack is present in the top back slat.
