A late 19th century American step-back cupboard in a traditional two-piece form, with a red painted surface that has developed a rich, layered tone over time. The upper cabinet is arranged with open shelving for display, while the lower section offers drawers and enclosed storage beneath a wide working surface. The proportions come together easily, giving the piece a natural presence in the room. It lends itself to use as a kitchen cupboard, pantry piece, or display cabinet, bringing both function and a strong visual layer to the space.
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. Painted surface shows general wear. One replacement board at the interior base shelf. Aged holes present in the back boards.
