A rare 19th-century Scandinavian painted bentwood pantry box with a tall, elongated form and beautifully aged surface. The creamy body is detailed with a delicate folk floral motif and deep blue bands at the lid and base, while a metal ring pull opens the inset lid. The generous height and graphic painted details make this antique folk art piece especially striking for storage or alongside a chair or sofa.
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use, including scratches, marks and areas of paint loss throughout. The lid has slight warping from age.
