An antique Victorian spindle-back chair with a graceful tall silhouette, slender turned spindles, ball finials, and curved side supports. The soft gray painted finish gives the chair a beautifully muted palette, while the narrow proportions and delicate lines lend an almost sculptural quality. A wonderful piece to pull into a bedroom, entry, dressing room, or layered cottage interior, either as occasional seating or as a decorative accent. Circa 1890s–1910s.
CONDITION
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The painted finish shows areas of wear, chipping, and earlier paint layers. The upholstered seat covering shows cracking and surface wear. An earlier cane seat remains underneath.
