A late 19th century primitive wood stool with a beautifully sculptural profile. Four splayed legs support the thick round seat, with wood stretchers, slender metal supports, and a turned central hub creating a wonderfully graphic base. The richly aged surface carries deep brown tones and layers of old finish that speak to generations of use. A compelling piece of primitive country furniture with the presence of a found folk object.
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The stool has extensive surface wear, marks, scratches, and accumulated finish throughout.
