This pair of mid-century Latin American folk art figures captures a man and woman carrying woven baskets in expressive hand-carved form. Traces of ochre, cream and muted red paint accent the carved faces, garments and basket weave, while the exposed wood gives each figure a richly aged surface. Their sculptural silhouettes and narrative quality bring a warm, graphic presence to a shelf, cabinet or tabletop.

CONDITION

In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. There is considerable wear and loss to the painted finish, along with surface marks and small chips to the carved wood.
