This antique Whipple rectangular churn retains the original stencil reading “Whipple’s Rectangular Churn – Patented January 21st 1868,” produced by Cornish, Curtis & Greene of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The square wooden churn box mounted within a hand-crank rocking stand creates a sculptural form defined by bold corner striping, iron hardware, and warm aged wood. The graphic stencil and architectural stand give the piece strong visual presence, making it an exceptional accent for primitive, farmhouse, early American, and collected interiors.
CONDITION
